OCM 12c Preparation - Create RAC databases

After install the RAC software, this topic asks to create a new RAC database. This means that if you fail to install, you will have no way to create a RAC DB or services (nex topic), resulting in a lot of lost points. So it's mandatory to do the previous topic and this with all the attention.

One interesting thing is that in the first skillset (General Database and Network Administration, and Backup Strategy) it's not mentioning to create any new instance, meaning that probably we are dealing with existent ones there, while here we will create a new one.

I can think on the following ways for creating a RAC database:

  1. Create database using dbca (the fastest and recommended if the exam does not put any restrictions)
  2. Create database using dbca with response file.
  3. Create database using dbca with parameters in the command line.
  4. Create database using the “CREATE DATABASE” statement (not recommended if the database is CDB as catcdb.sql + catclust.sql takes a lot of time)
