Oracle Database 19.21 RU was just released! As soon as it is available in My Oracle Support to download, we also add it to ORAdiff app: https://oradiff.oracle.com/
So, what is new? You can check yourself by accessing ORAdiff website and comparing each section, but below I will give a summary of the main changes that I could identify:
1 - New Parameter
A new parameter main_workload_type was introduced in this RU. This parameter defines the database workload type. Checking the parameter valid values are ANALYTICS or OLTP (default).
Also, taking a look at the fixed bugs in 19.21 compared with 19.20, you will note this new one related to the parameter:
- 35017301 - PASS MAIN_WORKLOAD_TYPE TO CELLSRV AS PART OF CDB/PDB IOCTL
So it seems this parameter will be used to also tune the storage cells depending on the DB-defined workload type.
2 - New Column in UNIFIED_AUDIT_TRAIL
UNIFIED_AUDIT_TRAIL table now has a new column named SOURCE, with type VARCHAR2(8).
3 - New Fixes
19.21 has 298 fixes. This is the small number of fixes introduced in a RU since 19.5 (Oct 2019):
