OCM 12c Preparation - Create and manage users, roles, and privileges

Creating users, roles and give them privileges are one of the most basic thing a DBA must know. If you need to create any in the exam, you need to memorialize the syntax because this type of task is so basic that you can't lose time on it.

As in 12c we have now common and local users, this is the main point you need to understand the difference and play creating and granting privileges on the PDB or the CDB.

You must clearly know:

  • Managing Common and Local Users.
  • Managing Local and Common Roles.
  • Managing Local and Common Privileges.
  • SYSASM / SYSBACKUP / SYSDG / SYSKM privileges.

You must also be able to create very fast a new user via SQLPlus / SQL Developer / EM Interface.
