OCM 12c Preparation - Create and manage an ASM instance

This topic is almost the same we had in 11g OCM.

In this topic, what I understand is that you need to practice the following items:

  • Alter the ASM parameters (like initially automounted DGs / power limit / diag / etc)
  • Change the spfile place by using spset / spcopy inside "asmcmd" tool.
  • Start / Stop ASM instance using srvctl.
  • How to use oracleasm tool to perform multiple ASM tasks:
    • iostat / lsdsk / chdg / chkdg / lsattr / setattr / online / offline / etc
  • Active Session History Sampling for Oracle ASM.
  • There are many intersting features in 12c that can be asked, check this article: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/database/asm-odb12c-enhancements-2206102.html

Imagine the the ASM instance is not automatically created when you configure a fresh grid infrastructure. Would you know how to create one from scratch?
